"To bring together the world of finance and the world of science” ( Thursday, 15 November 2007 )

Commercialization of research and basic science is the most difficult issue the world over.  India has done tremendously well in bulk manufacturing drugs during the process patent era. However a far bigger opportunity is available for the country in the coming decades both in the biogenerics and drug discovery process because of a multitude of factors.  India can be the medicines supplier to the entire world.

Also innovation occurs at the intersection of similar industries.  Where innovation is there, there will be a financial opportunities. It is up to us to grab that.  However there has to be a better understanding between the innovators and the financial world to take ideas come to market place.
